Neither Local nor Global. On Virtual Glocalized Sociabilities

Abstract
Modern societies have experienced a profound change since the last quarter of the previous century. There appears to be a consensus that, among the many experienced changes, there is one, the proliferation of electronic media (Internet) that has had the most impact on the daily lives of people. This issue, which especially interests us, presents the following central question: regarding face to face interactions, there is a fairly significant specific point, the fact that such interactions are no longer located exclusively within a territory. Recent changes in communication processes, which have occurred after the expansion of The Network and its implications for sociability processes will be the subject of our analysis. In a review of the literature on the subject, we will analyze the effects of these new media - popularized since the 1970s - in the daily lives of people, with special attention to their biographical trajectories.
