Autocracias globalizadas y democracias en crisis

Main Article Content

Abstract

Globalization is an economic and political process. It is not understood without that double dimension. Currently, there is an increase in autocratic governments that reveal the crisis of liberal democracy. The democratic backsliding exists, with charismatic leaders who appeal to the people as the model of ruler. Their effects are global, as were those of the third wave of democratization, although in the opposite direction: restriction of freedoms and capture of the State.
