China's Interests in Brazil. An Analysis of Brazil's Insertion Strategy and Possible Trends for South America

Abstract
This essay aims to analyze the impact of China's economic and political expansion in Brazil in a scenario of international uncertainty derived from profound transformations. Systemic transitions generate important changes in various dimensions of power on a global scale. In the Chinese case, it is observed through sustained economic growth during the last decades as well as an expansion of a political nature in different countries, continents, and international instances. The irrefutable increase in power of China in the international arena has generated a series of debates regarding the areas of transformation; however, usually the transition of power underway as well as its consequences are generally observed in the impact that is generated between the Hegemonic powers, faced with such a problem. The following work investigates the accelerated transformation that the China-Brazil relationship is going through, considering the following analytical dimensions; analysis of Chinese interests in Brazil, systemic and bilateral transition, analysis of the Brazilian insertion strategy in a world in transition. For this purpose, the analysis focuses on the management of Dilma Rousseff and the impact of the impeachment, Michel Temer's presidential term, the electoral campaign, and the first steps in the positioning of Jair Bolsonaro as President of the Republic. Finally, the relationship and possible trends for South America are analyzed.
