Unasur as an Observer in the United Nations
Main Article Content
Abstract
UNASUR constitutes South America’s most sophisticated space for political concertation and dialogue. It was part of the autonomy and leadership project promoted by Brazil since 2000, through the South American Presidents’ Summits, whose result was the South American Community of Nations (CSN) in 2005, a forerunner of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) created in 2008. This essay analyses the entry process of the organization as a United Nation’s observer, as part of its formalization before the international community.
